Today, computer networks are the core of modern communic ation. This boom in communications wouldnot have been possible with out the progressively advancing computer network. The expansion of industries is mirrored by growth in the numbers and types of people using networks. Communic ation and computer networking thus play a vital role in all spheres, generating ongoing demand for networking professionals. Knowledge about Computer networks and the technologies that make communication between networked computers possible, is inevitably the need of the hour; computer professionals are expected to be compe tent in basic networking concepts, minor trouble shooting and configuration of server roles.
